The Diss Town F C Annual General Meeting was held
at Brewers Green Lane on Tuesday 22nd June. Chairman
Des Tebble welcomed members to Brewers Green Lane and thanked
the loyal supporters for their continuing support during a
season in which the travelling support once again saw the better
performances and more wins. The aim remains to gain promotion
back to The Ridgeons League Premier Division. He thanked all of
the match sponsors, advertising board sponsors and other major
sponsors for their support. He also thanked all of the Team
Managers for their efforts.
Secretary Steve Flatman spoke about the extended
youth section following the integration of the former
Bressingham Youth Football Club with the benefits of the
5-a-side tournament and presentation night evident with the
enjoyment of many youngsters clear for all to see. He reported
that Diss would have an A Team playing in The Crown Fire League
and hoped that it would be a good opportunity for young players
to move into open aged football. He reported that the
relationship between the Club and The Ridgeons League, now using
Brewers Green Lane for most Cup Finals, and the local community,
as seen by The Diss Carnival, very strong.
The members present thanked Gary Enderby for the
work that he had done in selling a large number of advertising
boards.
The meeting elected Brian Collins to serve as
President and Len Nice as President Elect.
Danny Maskell thanked Des Tebble for his
excellent service as Chairman over 30 years and also that in
support by his wife Phyllis. Mr Tebble who stood down as
Chairman will continue to serve The Club with Richard Upson
elected as the new Chairman.
The other Officers were re-elected - Danny
Maskell as Vice-Chairman, Steve Flatman as Secretary, Pam
Flatman as Fixture Secretary and Tony Collins as Treasurer. The
Committee will discuss the creation of various sub-committees in
the forth coming months. Those elected to serve on some of these
sub-committees were Noel Mullenger, Sheila Mullenger, Dora
Mills, Keith Walker, Eric Chambers, Peter Harvey, Kevin
Mullenger, John Birrell, John Hutton and Malcolm Hewitt. |
