The Diss Town Football Club Annual
General Meeting was held at Brewers
Green Lane on Thursday 23rd June.
Chairman Richard Upson opening the
meeting by welcoming members present and
thanking all those who had given him
support in his first year as Chairman.
he praised the work of all the
managers from Under-7 Team through to
First Team for their efforts during the
season. The integration of the Youth
section into the main club had
strenthened after two full years and the
club had been awarded The Football
Association Standard Charter Award.
Secretary Steve Flatman reported that
an A Team had been reintroduced and had
completed its first season. It had
helped with the movement of Under-18
Team players from Youth to Open Age
Football. The team, under the management
of Jamie Scales, had won its league, two
cups and twice been awarded Team of the
Month. Barry Riches will take over as
manager next season. Paul Drake had done
a magnificent job with the Reserve Team
and they had finished second in their
league, only just pipped to the title by
Lowestoft. The First Team had gained
promotion and praise goes to Rob Taylor
and his management team for their
achievements. He also thanked all of the
sponsors of the club and the supporters
for their tremendous support.
Assistant Secretary reported on a
successful but challenging season for
the youth teams. He reported that the
club will have boys teams from Under-7
to Under-16, except for Under-14 and
Under-15 next season, this will include
two teams at Under-10s. There will be a
girls team for the first time at the
club, playing at Under-15s. Laurence
Brown, from Under-10 team, had won the
South Norfolk Youth League Player of the
Season award for season 2010/11.
The Officers Elected, all unchanged
from last season, were:
Chairman - Richard Upson
Vice-Chairman - Danny Maskell
Secretary - Steve Flatman
Fixture Secretary - Pam Flatman
Treasurer - Tony Collins.
Mark Channell as Assistant Secretary
and the election of an Assistant
Treasurer will be made at a
Sub-Committee meeting.
Kevin Mullenger, Noel Mullenger,
Sheila Mullenger, John Hutton, Eric
Chambers and Keith Walker were
re-elected to The Committee. New
Committee Members elected were David
Archibald, Brian Collins, Bodo Rissmann
and Gary Enderby.
Mr Upson thanked Brian Collins for
his work as President for the past four
years. Len Nice was confirmed as the new
President with Brian Collins elected as
President Elect for two years time.
Admission prices would be retained at
the same levels as for the past five
seasons for season 2011/12.
