Diss Town saw their winning sequence of three
league matches come to an end despite leading by 3-1 midway
through the second half. Stewart Roach scored all four goals for
The Bloaters, who are now managed by ex-Diss boss Paul Tong.
Diss manager Rob Taylor said, “Our defending was poor, we gave
the ball away far too easily and were punished for it. We’ll
have to work on this before our next game.” The team showed just
one change to that which had won at Ipswich Wanderers the
previous week. Gavin Pauling replaced the injured Leighton
Miller.
Diss took just eight minutes to take the lead.
Gavin Pauling sent the ball across from the right for Osiris
Gomes to beat a defender and hit a shot from the edge of the
penalty area past ex-Diss goalkeeper Michael Hilton.

Stewart Roach was denied an equaliser in the 13th
minute when Luke Catchpole cleared off the line. However, ten
minutes later Roach scored his first goal of the afternoon. Adie
Hayes gave the ball away to Scott Woodcock. He moved forward and
after going into the penalty area squared the ball for Roach to
shoot in.
Hilton made a great save to keep the scores level
after Hayes and Kevin Leggett linked up to create a shooting
chance for Catchpole. Diss regained the lead in the 35th
minute when a weak header from Toby Gourbould at a free kick
from Ed Cussons allowed Andy Moody to shoot in from ten
yards out.
Moody took advantage of poor Yarmouth defending
to allow Ben Deacon the chance to float the ball over
Hilton to make it 3-1 to Diss in the 63rd minute.

Five minutes later Diss gave the ball away and
Jose Vide and Jake Reed combined to give Woodcock the chance to
run and cross for Roach to pull a goal back from close range.
Hayes was caught in possession in the 72nd
minute and his hurried pass to Cussons saw Reed win the ball and
pass for Roach to equalise with his hat-trick goal. The next
goal would be crucial. Diss thought that they had it when Deacon
put the ball in the net but an offside flag saw the effort ruled
out. With a minute left Diss again gave the ball away and Chris
Squire hit a shot which Mark Camidge could only parry for Roach
to win the game at 4-3 with a shot.
