Diss
manager Rob Taylor included two players who had joined the club
in the week from Mildenhall in his starting line up against
Saffron Walden. Goalkeeper Ben Nower is on loan for a month
until 14th November. Alan North is in his second
spell with Diss and was an early goal scorer on debut. During
the week central defender Kevin Leggett transferred to his local
club, King’s Lynn Reserves.
The match
got off to a spectacular start with three goals coming in the
first seven minutes of the game. Tom Richardson put The Bloods
ahead in the 3rd minute when he latched on to a
through ball to shoot in from eight yards out. Alan North
equalised two minutes later when the ball was not cut out and it
reached him at the far post. Danny Partridge raced away down the
wing from half way and crossed low for Ben Deacon to shoot The
Tangerines 2-1 into the lead from six yards out.

North
headed over to a Luke Catchpole centre and Deacon hit his shot
wide to a similar cross from Partridge which had seen him score
much earlier in the half. These chances missed were to prove
costly as Saffron Walden made it six draws from nine league
games when they equalised in the 74th minute. Brad
Green scored from six yards out after a spell of pressure from
the home team.
