Diss had enough chances to win the game in the
first half but then fell to the odd goal in seven goals scored
in the last half an hour of the match. Stuart Jenkinson replaced
Mark Shadrack at right back and Steve Wright came into the team
as the only changes to the team that started the match against F
C Clacton.
Danny Partridge was high with his header to a
Jake Berry corner, Ben Soanes was high with his header to an Ed
Cussons corner, partridge had a shot well saved by Matt Terry
and George Wilson struck the bar with the follow up shot in a
series of first half chances for The Tangerines.
Steve Best diverted a 60th minute
centre past Matty Hill for the opening goal of the match. Two
minutes later George Wilson equalised with a shot from
ten yards out. Soanes headed against a post moments before
Thetford went 2-1 up in the 70th minute. Callum Webb
shot in from 16 yards out. Three minutes later Leon Campbell
increased the lead to a Lee Brewer free kick.
Jake Berry scored his first goal since
returning to Diss when he made it 3-2 in the 77th
minute directly from a free kick 30 yards out. Partridge was
only just wide as he shot to a Soanes pass five minutes from
time. As the game went into added time Craig Skipp hit an
unstoppable 25 yard volley past Hill to make it 4-2. Stuart
Jenkinson had a fine chance to reduced the arrears to a
Berry centre before finally doing so three minutes into added
time. |
