Soanes' shot goes agonizingly close in the 1st half

 Match Report by Tony Collins

Diss Town increased their lead over 5th placed Saffron Walden to six points from five extra games played thanks to a 4th goal of the season from Jason Hunt. It was a sixth away win of the season for The Tangerines in a game which is best described as rather scrappy.

Bradley Green shot wide with an early chance for the home team and Ben Soanes did likewise in the 11th minute from six yards out when he shot wide after fine creative play from Sam Bryant. The only save of the first half was excellent. It came late on when Matt Webster dived low to his right to keep out a well struck shot from Green fro m the edge of the penalty area.

Jason Hunt won a challenge near half way in the 53rd minute and took the ball away from Peter Flack. Jason Hunt moved forward with real purpose and shot into the corner of the net from just inside the penalty area for the only goal of the game.

Webster caught a header from Jamie Solkhon at a corner as the only real danger to the Diss goal. For The Tangerines Peter Hooks hit a late long range shot just wide and then forced goalkeeper Ronnie Yates into a save
