Dear Athletes,
CHANGES TO THERAPEUETIC USE EXEMPTION PROCESSES
Athletes that are prescribed a prohibited substance or method for a legitimate medical condition need to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). Before they do this, they should ask their doctor if there are any suitable permitted alternative treatments.
With the implementation of the new rules of anti-doping from the 1st January 2009, there have been significant changes to the TUE process, also from the 1st January 2009.
There are now forms for the following
TUE Form
Beta2 Agonist Form
There are also the following guidance notes
TUE Form Guidance
Beta2 Agonist Guidance
Athletes in the FIS testing pool (2 athletes from GBR) must send any TUE forms to FIS for processing. All other applicants must send forms via their home nation or SnowsportGB.
PLEASE NOTE: If you already have a valid TUE certificate then you will not need to apply for another TUE until it expires. Anyone who holds a TUE certificate that is valid until 2010, it will become void on the 31st December 2009 and you will need to apply for a new TUE at the end of 2009.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Gemma
