Both from 1801 letters to Emma Hamilton about their idyllic but all too short life together at 'Paradise Merton' in Surrey.

'If there were more Emmas, there would be more Nelsons.'

'We are few but of the right stuff'*.

* [ And you thought it was coined for American astronauts !  Actually from 1794, regarding the British attack on Corsica ]
