TU ULTIMO TRUCO

7 inch
The 7 inch single from
Japan. In the Countries where this was released as a
single, the sleeve was almost identical, excluding specific
additional regional information. The reverse of the sleeve was
almost identical on issues around the world, even the B-sides
were the same, and were Irish
Boy and The Road,
both from the album Music From
Cal by Mark Knopfler. "All
Royalties from the sale of this record are being donated to 'The
Hospitals For Sick Children' Great Ormond Street" - these
are the words printed on the top right of the sleeve, especially
from Countries such as Japan (pictured), Portugal, Australia
& the UK. My Australian version indicates the above B-sides
on the label, but actually plays Your
Latest Trick both sides,
probably a mis-pressing.

The 7 inch single from South Africa. This sleeve does not carry the reference to
"Great Ormond Street", the only single in my collection
of Your Latest Trick not to do this. I don't even know if the
royalties from this single on sale in South Africa were donated,
or the missing reference was just an oversight. The single
contains the same tracks as mentioned above. Most singles
identify the place of manufacture, both on the sleeve and label,
so it is easy to identify the country of origin, but this single
does not. It can be identified by the catalogue number, TOS 1577,
a number, I understand, to be unique to South Africa.
Promotional copies around the world include Japan which is almost identical to it's standard release, and a special DJ promo from the UK featuring a radio version (4:10) on the A-side and the album version on the other. Limited copies of a UK Test Pressing were made, featuring the same 3 tracks as the standard release.
12 inch.
The UK used the same sleeve design as the 7 inch, and used the same B-side although it featured longer versions of the three tracks. Your Latest Trick(6:28), Irish Boy (3:55) and The Long Road (as they've called it on the 12 inch) lasted 7:13. The UK also issued a White Label Promo in a plain sleeve, and the tracks were the same as the UK 12 inch release.
The 12 inch Disco Promo
from Brazil. The 4:46 version of
Your Latest Trick was coupled with Head Over Heels by
Tears For Fears. The reverse of the sleeve had sleeve notes
referring to both songs. See Below.

The sleeve notes found on the back of the 12 inch Brazil Disco Promo. Interpretations welcome.
The sleeve for
the 6 inch square flexi-disc from Russia. Very rare 6 inch flexi-disc issued about 1994,
available in 4 different colours, Clear, Red, Brown and Green.
The SQUARE flexi-disc is one sided, contains
only part of the song, and the sound quality is not good. This is
part of a set.
