About your Instructor

Yvonne is a professional Dog Training Instructor with over 25 years experience. An Associate of John Rogerson (who is widely regarded as the best Dog Trainer in the world today) and is a Fellow of the Canine Behaviour Institute. Yvonne has instructed in Texas and in India. Yvonne has been involved in dogs throughout her life, Yvonne first started teaching for the Scottish Dobermann Club in 1986 and in 1988 decided to start her own training classes namely Darcregan Dog Training. Yvonne has attended many courses on Dog Behaviour and Training run by the following recognised names in this field i.e., Sheila Bailey (Derbyshire Canine Centre), Roy Hunter, (Anglo American Training), Terry Ryan, the late John Fisher (Member of the APBC) and John Rogerson (Northern Centre for Animal Behaviour).


John Rogerson regularly invites Yvonne as assistant instructor on his Teacher and Training Courses and more recently as assistant instructor on the course he ran in Texas.

Yvonne has experience of Agility, Obedience and Working Trials where her previous dog 'Daeger' (Sallate Ming at Darcregan, CDex, UDex) gained his Companion Dog excellent and Utility Dog excellent qualifications. Sadly Daeger died at the young age of 6 from Heart Failure. Yvonne currently owns a Dobermann 'Laeka' (the Princess!) who has achieved Companion Dog Excellent and Utility Dog Excellent qualifications in Working Trials and has also won an award in Agility. Yvonne has recently acquired a new Dobermann puppy 'Marley'.
Yvonne has handled her own Dogs and others with success in the Show ring including qualifying and receiving placings at Crufts. Darcregan trained dogs have also appeared in film and theatre.
Yvonne is an Open Show Judge of Dobermanns, has recently judged the Companion Dog Stake at Working Trials and has experience of judging limited Obedience, heats for the SKC's Pet Obedience Dog of the Year, and KC Good Citizen Awards.
Yvonne recently gave a presentation for the UK Register of Canine Behaviourists.
