Yogi's Story

At first when we got him
We had just a dream
Of obedience and heelwork
Oh how naive.

His first classes were fun,
For him not for us
I remember the stress,
Yvonne said "don't fuss".

He learned to sit
And stay and wait,
Even not to run out
The garden gate.

He had his moments
He wouldn't take a tellin'
But then one day
We learned to stop yellin'.

Gradually he got it
And praise him we did
Then came the test day
I felt like a kid.

The nerves were abundant
And butterflies a million
But confidence we had
Not a lot, just a smidgin'.

The Bronze we said
"by hook or by crook"
but then came the Silver
oh what a fluke!

The Gold we pondered
Then thought "just for laughs"
But blimey he did it
Proud parents at last.

He had his Awards
Aged not even one
All thanks to Darcregan
Who made it such fun!

Thanks to Yvonne and Helen, and all Yogi's classmates.
