AUDIOTRON TIME/DATE UPDATE

Type: Utility

Date: May 15th 2007

Submitted by: Leland Sindt

Language: Perl Script

One of the problems with the AudioTron is that the Time and Date is only set when the unit is first switched on.
Leland has written a Perl script which can be used via a scheduler (such as CRON) to update the clock on the AudioTron at regular intervals.

You will need to change the username and password from within the script if you have changed it from the default 'admin' & 'admin'

REPLACEMENT TURTLERADIO SERVICE

Type: Service

One of the good (or bad) things about TurtleRadio was that it was internet based. Since the demise of the TurtleRadio service, the only way to listen to internet radio is to use a local file which may require a firmware upgrade to your AudioTron.

Instead of upgrading the firmware (which can be risky) and creating a reliance on a PC for hosting the Config file, Ian has tricked the AT into reading the file off his DNS server.

If you are happy using a generic Internet Radio station list, Ian has offered to let people access his server using the same technique:

1) Using the AudioTron web interface, Go to the Settings, Network page (network.asp).

2) You will need to set your AudioTron to use a static IP rather than use DHCP (select Use Static Settings Below).

3) Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway as normal in the Static IP settings area.

4) In the DNS Server entry add the IP address: 72.3.165.83

5) That's it, Save the Connectivity settings and reboot the AudioTron.

Once rebooted, the AudioTron should find the TurtleRadio File on Ian's server.

Please note that if you want your stations added to the generic list, please log on to my Home Automation server here and update the station resource list. This is used as a basis for the generic file on Ian's server and updated from time to time.

If you have Excel loaded then you can download this spreadsheet to manage your TurtleRadio stations locally via a text file. It has similar functions to my on-line editor including duplicate removal. Details of how to operate your AudioTron from a local file are available on this site here.

Please ensure that macros are enabled when loading this spreadsheet.
