The Goms valley is the first valley that the Rhone flows through, leaving the Rhone Glacier coming down the sides of Galenstock.
There is track of about 25 kms alongside the Rhone cut for both classic and skating. There is a railway line along the valley and every 5kms or so there is a village with a railway station and cafe. In addition there are undulating tracks going away from the river - about 100kms of tracks in total.
Our first day (December 29 2005) was extremely cold, particularly first thing.
