All the permits and the preparations are complete! we are now almost ready to start in the New Year

A new extension to the building comprising new wider entrance, an atrium, separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, a larger store and dispensary, a lift and disabled facilities. New digital radiography and staff accommodation will also be added. The facilities we currently offer will not be affected while buiding work is taking place as arrangements have been made for our normal work to continue as before.

We are PDSA Pet-Aid Centre for CB8 and CB9 region.

On behalf of the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals we have helped hundreds of pet's in distress to get better even when money is scarce.

Who's who:We are four full time vets and two part time vets. Four dedicated receptionists to help with all desk and phone inquiries. We have six nurses of which three are RCVS registered qualified veterinary nurses and two trainees.

At last Josh completed all four marathons at a total of 1235 minutes.

The first of four marathons he ran the Loch Ness (Inverness) marathon on 05/10/08 in 285 minutes (4hrs:45min:15seconds; The second on 08/01/09 Tiberias marathon in 314 minutes (5hrs:14min:2seconds) The Edinburgh Marathon 23/05/10 at 5hrs:13min Inverness again on 03/10/10 in 5hrs:23min (on antibiotics and it was raining if you must ask...)

We support our local charities: Newmarket Cats, Cataholics (aka Animal Crackers) - charities doing great work in rescue and fostering of sick and injured stray cats and our local RSPCA. We supooprted the Hearing dogs for the Deaf and the Dog's Trust

In addition we support the British Heart Foundation.

Others: Nat Allen, on the other hand has been fabulously breaking PBs LR&C

More money has been collected through sponsorship of runs ranging from The Race for Life (our vets and nurse Ladies ran) to various half Marathons.

Past charity runs included:

Josh ran Israel Tiberias Marathon 05/01/06 and Rome Marathon 26/03/06 when £2500+ was collected in sponsorship

Nearly £4700 have been collected for the BHF and the cats at the London Marathon 2005 (Josh ran).

Nurse Training

We are a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre. We accept student nurses as well as secondments from other institutions such as colleges.

Drop 'n shop Free 2 hour parking in the centre of town and pet minding!

When you come for your consultation we will pay the cost of 2 hour parking so you have plenty of time for your appointment and to shop freely. We will mind your pet for a short while if necessary, to avoidthem being left in the car!

Vaccine Amnesty

Now your pet could benefit from the amnesty if its vaccinations are out of date. For £35, the cost of a single annual booster, a new full vaccination course is yours.

SMS Text reminder

Some of you may already have received text messages to remind you that your animal's booster vaccination is due. This is an addition to the usual postcard. If you do not get them, make sure we have your mobiles' numbers. If you prefer to opt out of testing please let us know. The system is new and the computers are getting through the teething stage.
