EPISODE 6:
What happens:  It's party time at the Royles' 'cos it's Antony's birthday. Joining the regular
visitors to the house are Antony's girlfriend; Emma and best mate; Darren. Dave spoils the
party by bringing dog dirt into the house and everyone is stunned when Emma announces she's a vegetarian. Antony is presented with a sovereign ring and when Jim brings out his trusty banjo for a sing-song a tipsy Joe performs a moving ballad which has Norma in tears.

                              BARBARA: Did he?
                              TWIGGY: Well he is me mate, isn't he?

                              BARBARA(on Antony's ring): Oh, it does suit you, Antony.
                              ANTONY(impersonating the Fast Show tailors): Suits you, sir.
                              DARREN: Suit's you sir. D'you want it, sir?
                             
ANTONY: Do you, sir?
                              DARREN: Do you want it, sir? Do you?
                              NORMA: Course he wants it - it's his birthday present.

                              MARY(to Emma): Aah, so many new names for you! Just remember
                              we're Mary and Joseph - like in the Bible. But we've got Cheryl,
                              not Jesus.

                             
JIM: Well I'd like to say a nice big than you to Emma for putting to
                              one side all our doubts about our Antony being a sausage jockey.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL:
What happens:  The family settle down to Noel Edmonds and snowballs whilst digesting their Christmas dinners. Barbara is upset that no-one enjoyed their turkey but is shouted down
when she suggests they go without next year, Dave and Denise invite themselves round for
millennium night. After Antony leaves for Emma's and Dave takes Norma to Elsie's, Denise
goes into labour, Jim comforts his daughter until the taxi and Dave arrive and Denise is
rushed to hospital.

Magic Moments:  ANTONY(on Christmas at Emma's): Well, after they've had their
                              dinners they always play charades, y'know, and parlour games 'n'that.

                              JIM(laughing): Parlour games!
                              DENISE(also laughing): Is their telly broke?

                              NORMA: Ey, Barbara, you know that stuff Antony bought me from
                              the Body Shop, don't ya? D'you know what it said on it, 'Not tested
                              on animals'. What do you think?
                              BARBARA: Why, what do you mean?
                              NORMA: Well supposing some were to fall on a dog? I didn't say
                              anything to Antony - wasn't his fault.
           
                              JIM(after Denise's waters break): Are you definitely sure it wasn't just 
                              a great big piss, love?
