RECORDS

Comedy and pop music, in most cases, should never be mixed, most records by comedians
are only funny on the first hearing and then only vaguely so.  Although the I Will Cure You

album features comedy numbers(most of which are taken from the Big Night Out),
Vic and Bob's singles have always been cover versions, played straight, so, why can't you
help smiling whenever their heard?  There are many people in the country who only know
Vic Reeves as the bloke who got to Number One with Dizzy.  If, for some unknown
reason, the TV shows of Reeves and Mortimer are ever forgotten, you will instantly
remember who they were whenever Dizzy or I'm A Believer is played at a wedding
reception or new year's eve party.

MISCELLANEOUS
Further examples of Vic's musical ability can be found on a couple of compilation albums;
On NME's Ruby Trax LP with a cover of Ultravox's 'Vienna', on the Noel Coward tribute
album, Twentieth Century Blues with 'Don't Put Your Daughter On The Stage,
Mrs Worthington'.  The Theme from Randall and Hopkirk(Deceased) has also been released,
recorded by Nina Persson and David Arnold, although this was originally to be a duet with
Vic, he eventually appeared on the B-side with 'Ain't That A Kick In The Head'.
Vic also provides backing vocals to Morrissey's 'That's Entertainment' B-side and Vic and Bob can be heard on Jools Holland's 'Holy Cow' single.
Early examples of Vic's singing skills are harder to come by, a flexi-disc recorded in 1986
called 'The Howlin' Wind' was given away free with an  album by obscure punk band; Dan.
Then, of course, there's the legendary Fantasia by Fantantiddlyspan made famous by
Mark Lamarr.
