AGGEDOR

"Mighty is Aggedor, fiercest of all the beasts of Peladon!"

Also Known As: Royal Beast of Peladon A statue of AggedorAggedor attacks!

Place of Origin: Peladon

Description:

Fierce, hairy creatures armed with sharp tusks, claws and a single horn growing from the forehead. Aggedor was a religious, deific figure in Pel folklore, both feared and revered by Peladonians in equal measure. Many shrines, statues and myths were raised in honour of the species.

One of the more potent legends was that of the 'curse of Peladon', where the spirit of Aggedor will rise again to warn and defend the king of Peladon against danger. The Aggedor was also a symbol of Pel royalty, tradition and nationalism. Aggedor fur was used to fashion royal garments while its head graced the Peladonian royal emblem. Once hunted by Pel nobles aiming to prove their courage, the royal beast of Peladon was a symbol of strength and power.

Long thought extinct, the species in fact survived in remote mountain areas. An anti-federation faction of Pel society, making use of the beast's hold on Peladonian beliefs, captured and trained an Aggedor in an attempt to further their goals. Following Peladon's acceptance into the Galactic Federation, Aggedor languished in the caves below the citadel for fifty years before emerging once again to defend Peladon's heritage.
