Description:
Repair droids constructed out of space-age clockwork from of a 51st century spaceship. When their vessel was severely damaged in an ion storm, these androids swung into action, taking desperate and, for the crew, fatal measures to repair the ship.
Noting the name of their damaged ship and following rigid robot logic, the androids deduced that the brain of eighteenth century French noblewoman Madame De Pompadour, mistress of King Louis XV, was required in order to complete their repairs.
Thus, adopting an eighteenth century appearance as a rudimentary form of camouflage, the droids built time-space portals throughout the ship to periodically and surreptitiously scan Madame, looking for the time when she reached the requisite age for them to make their move and take her head.
