Description:

A humanoid species that lived in sub-zero temperatures, above which they would boil to death. The Cryons built refrigerated cities to maintain their frozen habitat

Unfortunately this environment attracted the Cybermen, who invaded Mondas after the destruction of their own planet and used Cryon refrigeration technology to build tombs in which to hibernate.

All but wiped out by this invasion, a handful of Cryons survived to form a resistance movement against the Cyberman occupation.
