The Daleks used battle computers to plan and execute their strategies. However, being computers, these machines were bound to logic, lacking the imagination and instinct of the greatest military minds. Indeed it was this reliance on logic that brought about the impasse in the Dalek-Movellan war.
To rectify this handicap, the renegade Daleks created a bio-mechanoid control system, combining ruthless Dalek logic with the ingenuity and imagination of a child. This combination of battle computer and schoolgirl oversaw the renegade's attempt to capture the powerful Hand of Omega.
