Also Known As: The Great Healer
Place of Origin: Skaro
Description:
A ruthless and power-mad scientific genius. Although a crippled and emaciated mutant, Davros was the Kaled people's greatest scientist and supreme commander during the Thal-Kaled war. Confined to a mobile life-support system Davros deduced the final form of Kaled mutation and invented the Mark IV travel machine for them, thus creating the Daleks. Ironically, although prepared to destroy his own people so that his Daleks could flourish, his creations turned on him, acknowledging no master but themselves.
However not even a Dalek extermination could kill Davros. Left for dead in the ruins of Skaro, Davros' secondary life support systems kept him in suspended animation while synthetic tissue generation repaired the damage he had suffered. Years later the Daleks returned, intending to use Davros to break the logical deadlock in their war against the Movellans.
Their plan failed and Davros was arrested and imprisoned by the Human authorities for ninety years. However the Daleks still needed their creator's scientific skills to find an antidote to a Movellan virus that was wiping them out. Rescuing him from his cryogenic prison they set him to work, although Davros had other plans.
Refusing to by used merely as a tool he dreamed of ruling over the Daleks, improving them and leading them to galactic conquest. He therefore set about building a small cadre of followers, bending their will to his with a mind control device. When the Supreme Dalek learned of this he ordered Davros' extermination, and the scientist was thwarted once again.
Davros fled to the planet Necros and set up shop at the Tranquil Repose. Calling himself the 'Great Healer' he used his knowledge to create an artificial protein to feed a famine-wracked galaxy. Thus established he began to breed a new and improved Dalek race from the people held in suspended animation at the mortuary. However the Supreme Dalek was alerted once more and defeated this Dalek faction. With his operation shut down Davros was taken back to Sakro to stand trial.
What happened next is unknown, but Davros' uncanny ability to bounce back from defeat must have worked tenfold. Davros somehow usurped the Supreme Dalek as leader, taking the title of Emperor and leading his enhanced Imperial Daleks on a quest for the powerful hand of Omega. By now he had lost the last vestiges of his humanoid form, but had realised his ambition to lead his creations and conquer the universe.
