Description: The White Guardian offers Enlightenment The White Guardian sends the Doctor on his quest for the Key To Time

A tremendously powerful being; the embodiment of the forces of good, light and order. Locked forever in conflict with his opposite number, the Black Guardian, their struggle maintained the balance of the universe.

When this equilibrium was upset, the Guardians acted. At one time when the balance began to tip towards evil, the White Guardian sought to redress the balance by assembling the Key to Time, and using it's power to bring the universe to a halt in order to set things right.

The White Guardian later appeared against his opposite during the race for Enlightenment and the eternal struggle between good and evil continued.
