A 'c' is normally used today, however both Locharron and Lochcarron are the same area.
Murdoch Sage 1670 also originated in Lochcarron.
Note that the Village was created about 1800, 130 years after he left. This was part of the Clearances of Ross-shire, farmers forced to be fishermen.
When Angus lived there it was a District name and main work was farming.
