Balfron was where the Perth Ritchie's actually started, by way of Canada and Aberfoyle.

Several of these have been extracted from larger wedding photos, see the set of wedding pictures for complete shot.
Gravestones of Ritchie's in Port Churchyard. William and his wife Elizabeth with behind Margaret and her husband.
Stonefield Cottage sounds like a barren kind of place, in reality it is a small house hidden in a sea of greenery. In fact there are two cottages, the other is just visible and has been completely rebuilt. These cottages have been home to several Ritchie families from time to time. In 1881 five different families lived here.
Windygates Cottage stands on a rise just off the Aberfoyle to Glasgow road. It could well have earned its name, exposed on high with no shelter. But a motely collection stayed here.
Ballachulish Slate Quarry, William Ritchie worked here from 1868 to 1880 Approximately.
This is the only known picture of Jeannie.
Helen Mcintosh.
The actual date of this Photo is not known but is thought to be near the end of her life.
It is inscribed on the rear with a handwritten verse,
Its holy flame for ever burneth
From Heaven it came to Heaven return
So oft on earth a troubled guest
At times decieved at times opprest
It here is tried and purified
Then hath in heaven its perfect rest
It soeth here with toil and care
But the harvest time of love is there.
