Veteran actress Aline Macmahon is Judy Garland's dresser in United Artists , "I Could Go On Singing".

One of America's most respected stage and screen artists, during the 1920's she was a Broadway fixture, appearing in manay plays. It was the satirical show "Once In A Lifetime", that brought her to the attantion of Hollywood.

Signed to a contract by Warner Brothers she made a score of pictures for that studio over a period of about five years, including "Gold Diggers of 1933", "Silver Dollar", "Five Star Final" and many more.

When her Warner Bros contract ran out she went to Peking with her husband and, on returningto the US., settled down in New York.
In recent years her major efforts have gone into her stage work but she did find time for roles in "The Young Doctors" and "Cimmaron". She won high praise for her appearance in "Romeo and Juliet" at Stratford, Connecticut, and distinguished herself in Sean O'Casey's "Pictures In The Hallway", T.S.Elliot's "The Confidential Clerk" and in the role of Queen Gertrude in "Hamlet". Her main off stage/screen occupation is travelling, largely to places where her husband's work takes him.

Jack klugman , who played an agent in "Gypsey", and was given a simialr part in "Days of Wine and Roses", lands yet another agent role in the Stuart Millar and Lawrence Turnman production, "I Could Go On Singing".

Piladelphia-born Klugman starved in New York for a time while learning to act at the American Theatre Wing. He appeared in plays, "St. Joan" with Kim Stanley and "Stevadore" with Rod Steiger and when work was short worked as a postman and a housepainter. He did repertory work for ten years then began to make a name for himself in plays like "Petrified Forest" and "Born Yesterday", with Barbara Bel Geddes.
He understudied in "Mr Roberts" and then took over the doctor role opposite Henry Fonda, who became a big influence in his life. Jack says, "Henry Fonda taught me more about acting than anyother single influence in my career".
His performance in a TV play led to his part in "Gypsy" and his films to date are "Twelve Angry Men", "Cry Terror" and "Days of Wine and Roses".
He is married to actress Brett somers and they have a boy, David and a girl, Leslie.
