MB403 Completion of Birmingham Town Hall . A copper medal 1834 by ? Shows the facade of the building. Reverse a 22 line inscription detailing building dimensions and dignitaries. 73mm (BHM 1678 Eimer 1277). About extremely fine and also rare. £95. MB448 Lambert Jones. A copper medal 1849 by W. Wyon. Bust of Lambert Jones right. Reverse Lengthy inscription. 64mm (BHM 2349 Eimer 1438). About extremely fine. £60. (picture) Richard Lambert Jones, member of the City of London Council represented the Cripplegate Ward 1820-1852.

MB484 Convention of the Friends of the Universal Peace. A white metal medal 1843 by J. Taylor published by W. Griffin. Draped bust of the Marquis de la Rochefoucauld, bare head left, inscription above and below. Rev. Peace stands holding palm branch above four females destroying weapons in a fire. 44mm (BHM 2112). Small dark spot on left shoulder otherwise extremely fine and extremely rare. Only noted made in white metal. £40. (picture)

MB572 Anglo-Danish Exhibition. A pewter medal 1888 by Baddeley and Reynolds of London. Intertwined shields of England and Denmark coats of arms. Prince of Wales feathers above, an inscribed plaque below, inscription around. Rev. An open wreath with space for named recipient. 56mm. MB635 Leeds Architectural Society Prize Medal. A copper medal C1900. A draughtsman/architect works at his drawing board, books at his feet and a desk to his left. surrounded by an ornate inscription on a raised border. Rev. An ornate cartouche within an inscribed raised border. 64mm Awarded to James T Pilling for measured drawings of Skelton Church, Yorkshire. 1907. A dark patch on the reverse raised lettering, otherwise a scarce and extremely fine medal. £48. (picture)

MB893 John Howard medal; The Statistical Society. A very rare copper medal 1873 by A.B.Wyon. Draped bust of John Howard bare head left, onscription around.. Rev. A sheaf of corn dividing inscription, inscription below and around on a wide border. 76mm (BHM2970, Eimer 1628) A very rare medal edgy but very fine. £45 (picture) John Howard (1726-90), philanthropist, High Sheriff of Bedfordshire 1773. Noted for his desire to improve conditions in prisons. He visited many prisons in Europe and in Britain and published his 'State Of Prisons' in 1777. Died of camp fever whilst with the Russian army at Kherston.

William Augustus Guy (1810-85), medical statistician. Professor of Forensic Medicine at King's College London 1838; President of the Statistical Society 1873-5..

The Statistical Society of London was established on 15th March 1834 for the purpose of arranging and publishing 'facts calculated to illustrate the condition and prospects of society.

MB1046 Foundation and first meeting of the British Archaeological Association. A bronze medal 1843 by W.J.Taylor. A hand pouring oil into an antique lamp, inscription aroung on a wide border. Rev. Arms of the City of Canterbury dividing date within a roseace. Inscription around on a wide border. 35mm (BHM2106) Extremely fine £42 (picture)

MB1047 Tribute to George, Prince of Wales A copper medal 1792 by Barnett. Draped bust of the Prince of Wales facing left, inscription around. Rev. Standing figure of King Alfred giving bread to a pilgrim, inscription around, date in exergue. 48mm (BHM1797)  About extremely fine  £160 (picture) The reverse depicts the story of King Alfred and St. Cuthbert. At a time when Alfred was destitute, a pilgrim begged him for bread. The King had only one loaf and a little wine which he shared with the pilgrim. The night following a figure in a Bishop's habit appeared to the King and charged him to love God, keep justice and be merciful to poor men and reverence to priests. From then on there would be an end to sorrow and care, and strong helpers would subdue his enemies.

The bust is undoubtedly a copy of Kuchler's work.

Bust of Frederick upon a pedestal flanked by Fame and Britannia; above infant genius bearing Prince of Wales Plumes and motto Rev.
