About
me
I am a fully qualified Reflexologist, having trained at the Northern School
of Reflexology and been awarded a practitioner certificate from the Association
of Reflexologists. As an associate member of the A.O.R. I am bound by their Code of Practice and
Ethics, and am fully insured.
After working as a Customer Service Manager in a large company for 15 years,
I decided to pursue my interest in complementary medicine and train as a
Reflexologist.
During my time at work, I was aware of the affects that working in a stressful environment
could have on people. Tiredness,
irritability, frequent colds, allergies, back and neck pain, digestive disorders,
and a lack of vitality were just some of the symptoms. There appeared to
be no real solution to these problems from conventional medicine other
than taking powerful drugs to mask the symptoms, which did not address the
underlying causes. I realised that there was a real need for a more holistic
approach to health.
I feel that complementary
therapies, and particularly Reflexology, have a vital role in supporting conventional medicine,
by offering a more gentle alternative.
I am currently forging links with business, and continuing my
professional development with additional training.
I have lived in York for 11 years and am married with an 11 year old son and a
6 year old daughter.
