******  League Entry form form Season 2011_12

*** ONLINE *** We have now initiated a new league management system, and the first part of the process is getting everyone's details into the system correctly listed.

What better way of starting this process than having you all enter your own details into the system as you apply to join the league for this coming season.

It is not an absolute requirement that you do it, as you can see you can still fill in the form as normal with an old fashioned pen and paper and then we will enter it in for you!  But it would be super useful if you could fill it all in for us through the new form we have created online for you.

Here is where the form lives: http://www.httl.org.uk/applynow  use it once you have all the information to hand.

Super simple ... it even adds up how much you need to pay for you!

Payment can be made either by paying the fee calculated straight into our bank account - if you choose to do this, it is essential enter the name of your team as the reference so we can match up payment with teams.  Alternatively you can still send us a cheque.

Expect many more interesting developments as we seek to simplify and improve the management of the league.

Payment of fees: By Online / cheque / postal order, payable to "Hereford Table Tennis League". If Online then essential the team name is used as the reference. Account No.  00204782   Sort code 30-94-14 http://www.httl.org.uk/applynow For any issues Contact Richard Maddrell richard@vitalis.co.uk

League Secretary: Mark Farr markfarr11@hotmail.com , Tel: 01432 379213, Mobile: 07512 851666

Requires Match Results ASAP whether by email, text or phone! This is to ensure regular reports in the local papers.

 2010- 11 SEASON

Newsletter No. 1 – September 2010

HTT LEAGUE 2010-11

The season is now well under way and I’m sure you all noticed that the score cards needed stamps this year. If any of your players are still short of a Handbook please contact the Acting Hon. General Secretary.

As you are all aware, the Bromyard Spring Chickens reluctantly had to withdraw from Div. 2 leaving 10 teams in the Div.

You will probably have noted the printing error for Woolhope TTC on page 20. The details were on the last proof but disappeared it went to print. Please insert the following:

Phenix – (H) 01432 860337 e-mail: dstables@wbsnet.co.uk

Foragers – Rob Wilcox, Hill Farm, Much Marcle, Ledbury, HR8 2PH (H & B) 01531 660285 (M) 07779 160331 Handbook shows

Please note the team captain changes for Bromyard Muppets and GF Dodgers (formerly Tigers).

PLEASE AMEND YOUR HANDBOOKS and let me know if you spot any more errors.

NEW  SECRETARY SOUGHT

Secretaries and other organizational officers appear to be on the endangered list – it’s very difficult to spot a new one The League was fortunate when Mark Farr took over as Match Secretary last season but we are still looking for a new General Secretary. After resigning at the AGM, Gordon stepped in as Acting Secretary but a replacement is needed. Gordon has undertaken to assist any one willing to take on this interesting post. One benefit is currently receiving the Leagues copy of Table Tennis News from the ETTA. Please contact any Committee member for more details.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Last season two weeks were badly affected by snow and ice but not all matches were postponed. Please notify all postponements for whatever reason to the Match Secretary as soon as possible.

ETTA RULE CHANGES

This year the ETTA adopted the following rule changes:

2.3.3 The ball shall be of a brand and type currently approved by the ITTF.

2.4.9 The Racket covering shall be of a brand and type currently authorized by the ITTF.

Editor’s note: There are currently some 1,400 authorized coverings to select from so no excuses!!!!!!

2.4.10 A racket shall not be changed during an individual match unless it is accidentally damaged so badly that it cannot be used (it happened to me playing against Kites.

2.10.1.6 A player shall score a point if his opponent deliberately strikes the ball twice successively.

2.15.2 The expedite system shall not be introduced in a game if at least 18 points have been scored (i.e. the score at 9-9 or 10-8).

A copy of the 2009 ETTA Approved Laws will be sent to all teams after receipt from the ETTA.

POSTPONEMENTS AND CUT-OFF DATE FOR LEAGUE FIXTURES

We are again nearing the end of the season but this year we have had 2 weeks disrupted by snow and hence a backlog of fixtures. At the Committee meeting on 14th March it was decided to extend the season by 1 week. Team Captains are therefore advised that ALL FIXTURES MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE 3 WEEKS AFTER WEEK 22 AND RESULTS CARDS RECEIVED BY THE MATCH SEC. BY MONDAY 25TH APRIL.

In accordance with Rule 6.3, all outstanding League matches after that date will have points awarded by the Committee.

RETURN OF RESULTS CARDS

The improvement in the return of score cards reported last year has continued. This makes the work of the Match Secretary much easier and enables results and League Tables to appear more regularly in the local press.

AGM 2010

The AGM will be held on Monday 13th June at the same venue as last year (the GWRSA Club opposite Sainsbury’s in Hereford).

This is the forum for any alteration of the League Rules. Any proposals for alteration or addition must be with the General Secretary by 30th April in accordance with Rule19.

NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS ALWAYS NEEDED

The Committee will once again be looking for a new Secretary and members for election at the AGM notwithstanding being quorate at all its meetings this season.

PRESENTATION EVENING

Here’s another reminder that the League’s Presentation Evening will be held at the GWRSA Club on Friday 24th June 2011. Tickets will shortly be available from Committee members at last year’s prices of £7.00 for adults and £5.00 for children.

Don’t forget to contact any Committee member with your generous Raffle prizes.

Please return all the Annually presented trophies to the Chairman, Ted Andrews, as soon as possible to ensure the engraving can be arranged for presentation.

ETTA INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATIONS FOR 2010/11

By now, you should all have received your ETTA Registration numbers. It is important that you pass these on to The Match Secretary for inclusion on your team’s League application form. Please let the General Secretary know if you haven’t yet received your Number.

KO CUP AND PLATE FINALS

The venue for the Finals will once again be Bromyard and be held on Thursday 14th April 2011.
