Land-resources.com was originally designed as an ongoing update of the book, Land Resources: Now and for the Future (1998). The passage of time has made this an impractical objective.

The site now covers recent publications by Anthony Young, together with comments and views on a variety of topics related to policy on land resources.

• Thin on the Ground: Land Resource Survey in British Overseas Territories The Golden Age of soil survey carries lessons for present-day development policy.
• Poverty, hunger and population policy: linking Cairo with Johannesburg Governments and international institutions will fail in their efforts to reduce hunger and poverty unless they treat population policy as an integral part of development.
• Give women what they want The ethically acceptable way to check population increase is to provide women with status, education, and access to family planning services.
• Is there really spare land? The amount of cultivable but uncultivated land may be 50% less than in official estimates.
• Land degradation: startling new results Widely held assumptions about land degradation are challenged by results from GLADA, a global monitoring study.
• Climatic change: are you being brainwashed? There has been no rise in mean global temperatures since 1998. Even the rise 1975-98 brought benefits in the form of increased plant growth. Yet those who argue for a balanced, scientific approach are condemned, a situation uncomfortably like brainwashing.
• Living with climatic change The climate has always changed. It will go on changing, and nothing that politicians can do will stop it. Money is better spent adapting to change.
