Caption:   Boob, Norway. 1915. A monument in the local churchyard to the memory of five Royal Navy sailors who died when their ship HMS India was torpedoed by a German Navy submarine on 1915-08-08 in nearby Westfjord. The monument, three metres high, was made of Norwegian granite surrounded by eight smaller granite stones connected by iron chains. It cost 2000 Norwegian Kroner which was collected by the local British Vice Consul and civilians. (Donor Norwegian Government)
