Michael, myself and three others have
recently corresponded with similar interests in the India. At this time our little group has decided to call
ourselves members of the "HMS India Association". We are trying to
bring more attention to this ship which is virtually unknown.
I
attach photos of the Norwegian Prisoner of War Camp. From what my
mother says, my grandfather (a prisoner) said that the camp was more like a
vacation area. The prisoners were allowed into town, learned to snow ski and
kept their hands in the work they were most familiar with. As you will see by
the pictures, they seemed very comfortable there and did what they had to do to
wait out the war. I've also included a picture of my grandfather in uniform
before he left on the India.
