If your loft has no insulation fitted
between the joists, you should fit some. This should be at least 200mm (8in)
deep.
Replace very old insulation or,
if it is in reasonable condition, add an extra layer to give good heat
retention properties to the rest of the house.
Start laying from the eaves,
but avoid blocking the ventilation gap. With blanket insulation, this can be
achieved by trimming the end into a wedge shape.
