Making a
Lawn

back to Lawn Care A fine lawn makes the perfect focal point for a well
planned garden.
A lawn has so many uses! The
close-mown grass makes a cool, green contrast with the colour in your flower
borders.
You may want to use the outdoor
space for relaxation, stretching out on a hot summer's day perhaps, or enjoying
a barbecue. Children of all ages love playing on grass and in winter, when the
landscape loses most of its colour, your lawn will be the freshest looking,
greenest part of the garden.
The days when lawns had to be
weed free are long gone. Nowadays, if you prefer, you can encourage daisies or
even meadow flowers in your grass. You can naturalise bulbs, allowing the grass
to grow long until they have died back. Or, you can be a perfectionist,
nurturing your grass into the faultless green sward that will be the envy of
your neighbours.
