Wallpapering is one of the most popular ways of changing the appearance of a room. If this is your first attempt at paperhanging give yourself enough time. You will achieve success by not rushing the job.

Modern materials make decorating much easier for beginners. The extensive range of wallcoverings available means that you can change the colour, pattern and texture of your walls with ease. A room which is not too large, full of awkward shapes and long drops is easier for the beginner. With practice you will be able to paper even the most difficult areas of your home with confidence. Work in daylight or good artificial light. Buy the best tools you can afford. The correct tools will improve your performance and the quality of the finished work. Wallpapering is usually the final stage of decorating a room after painting.

Before your start... SAFETY FIRST
Take care when working on ladders, and do not overreach.

Helpful TIP Buy all papers with the same batch numbers otherwise there may be some colour variation. Wallpapering is a skill that develops with practice. If you are a beginner, leave papering stairwells and ceilings until you are reasonably competent.
