Painting &
Decorating-Safety
As with any DIY work, safety
should be given top priority. With paperhanging and stripping,
be sure to consider the following: Always make sure the
electricity supply is off and the fuse removed when hanging paper around items
like lights, switches, or power sockets. Keep the work area
tidy. Discarded offcuts of pasted paper are very slippery
underfoot. Take care with trimming knives. They are
extremely sharp. Keep children and pets away from the work
area. Many wallpaper adhesives contain fungicide. Be sure
to double check the safety and condition of any working platform. Make
sure that it can not move or give way.
