Hi, my name is Karen and for the past seven years or so I have been digging up various old relatives of mine. This search has taken me from cemeteries to libraries and even to visit some of my Great Aunt's !!!! And what I have discovered so far is (for me) amazing - however, I still have a long long way to go....

I've also 'met' so many helpful people through various Genealogy Mailing Lists who never seem to tire of hunting down their missing ancestors - I'm beginning to believe the Bermuda Triangle's sister, the Scottish Square, exists - there are thousands of missing Scots !!

Anyway, enough about me - here's some further info on what you will find looking through my Web pages.  At the left hand side of the screen I have listed all the names I am currently researching. Clicking on a Surname will take you to listings of my direct ancestors with hyperlinks to associated Surnames. At the moment I still have loads of blanks but will be hopefully updating these as I find out more.

If you are interested in further information about any of my ancestors please email me.

** Unless specifically stated (eg Ireland) ALL place names are in Scotland.

** Important Notice Re My Ancestors **  For security reasons I have only listed those ancestors of mine who 'according to the old ancient tradition below' are now in the second stage.

Ancient Tradition

Each person dies three times.
First, there is the moment in which the body stops functioning.
Second, there is the time that the remains are consigned to the grave.
Third, there is that moment, sometime in the future, in which the person's
name is spoken for the last time. Then the person is really gone.
