Mairi Bastin (fiddle) works in publishing. She is currently taking time out from the band as she has recently had twins Loughlan and Islay. She co-founded the Grouse while at Oxford University for which we are all very grateful!
Alastair G-C (fiddle, pipes) cofounder of the grouse, Alastair has a boy Hamish and a girl Eliza who does not like beards! Alastair is responsible for getting us some of our more prestigious gigs (Romania, St Moritz).
Jason Dickinson (fiddle, Bodhran, Tuvan throat singing) Jason is one of the band stalwarts (needs the cash!) and is central to the Grouse sound. Fiddler extraordinaire he can also be heard in his own band.
Sean MacGloin (Fiddle, Bagpipes, Harmonica) Truly an all round musician. Sean will turn his bow or bag to anything. Since he inveigled his way into the grouse his playing and antics have become the stuff of legend.
Roger Peppe (fiddle) A man who knows his tunes. After Roger switched from classical to fiddle tunes he never looked back. Possibly has the largest collection of fiddle CDs in the world. A connoisseur of the genre reflected in his great skill.

Alan Mackinnon (Double Bass) Alan keeps us all on the straight and narrow as part of the rhythm section. Alan and Annabel are due to have their first child shortly.

Geordie Douglas-Hamilton (Piano) Me in fact, I designed the site. I am currently working on a degree in Computer Science that is when I can drag myself away from the piano. I love playing with this band they are a great bunch of people!

Jim Howard (Drums, trumpet) Composer extraordinaire, Jim lives in London with his wife and Children. He is a full time musician/composer his band Hill of Beans is only one of the many projects this creative genius is involved in.

Dick Smith (Drums, banjo) is a full time musician who can turn his hand to pretty much anything, he gives the band a unique sound. Since he started playing with us Dick has become more and more of a regular fixture in the bands line up.
Charlotte Pearson-Miles (piano) was part of the original line-up while studying at Oxford. Since then a period of living abroad in Kenya and her child rearing activities have meant that she has kindly allowed the lion's share of playing to be done by me. Thanks Charlotte!
Watty Hepburne-Scott (drums) Watty works in publishing in London, I believe he moonlights for another band when not playing with the grouse. Watty is a top drummer and does a great job when called upon to perform with the band.
Nikki Wilson (clarinet) has got married and had a son Thomas since the band has been up and running. We hope she is practicing for her next reunion with the band.
David Whitty(fiddle) is currently living in Uganda entertaining us all with his tales from the far side of reality. He enjoys getting e-mails you can e-mail him on daviduganda@hotmail.com.
Liz Kerr (Double Bass) last that I knew was living in India. She has been a fantastic addition to the band though due to Geography is not currently playing with us.
Simon Lee (Clarinet) This urbane urban warrior has a pretty slick way with a clarinet he is as much at home with the jazz standards as with the ceilidh tune, he is due to make a comeback with the grouse in Hampshire in August
Rob Whitty (fiddle) has graduated from showing people how to hang a frame straight to doing exciting work in the Aid field. He and his wife Heidi hosted the grouse at their wedding where we sampled the local brew which they brewed themselves - delicious!
Calum Lindsay (fiddle, guitar) Calum has been displaying his fiddle skills more and more with the grouse. We look forward to more collaborations with Calum in the future.
