HEATHBECK DRIVE-BY

Kate Symons and Paddy Symons, their arts site containing new poetry, stories, cartoons, and other miscellaneous musings.

‘What if I have a baby somewhere and nobody’s with him because I’m here and don’t know who I am?  He could starve or,’ She ran a hand through her collar length hair and Doyle had another pang of pity for her.

When a woman who claims to have no memory is caught abducting a baby, Michael Doyle seems to have his work cut out for him, but this is only the beginning, a drive-by shooting out on the Yorkshire Moors gives a psychopath his first rush of blood and Doyle must stop him before he kills again.

In this, the second in the series of Inspector Doyle novels, Kate Symons weaves together a complex collection of colourful characters to produce both a disturbing page turner and a rich exploration of memory.

Copies of “Heathbeck Drive-By” can be bought at LULU for £6.70  LULU’s dispatching system is incredibly fast, way faster than Amazon on a good day.

The first Inspector Doyle novel,”Echo in Black” can also be purchased here.

The Inspector Doyle series continues with
 “Heathbeck Drive-By”
which is out from Lulu this month.

White Cloud

The forecast for the day
and time
of Dad’s funeral.
No glimpse of wings ascending,
heels vanishing,
and a welcoming
of trumpets or harps.

They got it about right,
tears apart.
