Kimberley Hall, NorfolkThe photograph on the right shows Kimberley Hall, Norfolk, home of the Earl of Kimberley. Kimberley hall was designed by William Talman and built by Sir John Wodehouse. Construction began in 1712. It is the earliest example in Norfolk of a hall with low wings flanking the central bulk of the house and connected to it by curving passages. This form was derived from designs by the Italian Renaissance architect Palladio and was later copied in Houghton Hall.
