Dai Woodhams Scrap yard in South Wales became a Mecca for Railway enthusiast’s during the1960/70s with over 200 withdrawn steam locomotive’s lined up awaiting the cutters torch.
In 1971 little did we know that it was not the end of steam but just the beginning of a new era. Nearly all the locomotives were eventually saved by preservation societies
