The Keltek Trust: Funding

The Trust relies on donations to maintain its work in the conservation of redundant and surplus bells, and helping churches acquire bells for full-circle English-style bell-ringing.

FUNDING REQUIRED

We urgently need more money to support our Bell Rescue Fund. Launched in 1998 the fund has already proved a great success by allowing the Trust to rescue individual bells and rings of bells, which are put on offer to other churches. Projects benefiting from the fund include Liverpool, Penny Lane,  Charleston Cathedral, SC, and Lismore,NSW where rings of bells acquired by the fund have or will be installed.
In the November 1999 pre-Budget report the Chancellor, Gordon Brown announced a package of measures to help charities, called
Getting Britain Giving. The measures include:

  • Removal of the £250 minimum limit for Gift Aid donations
  • Simplification of the Gift Aid scheme
  • Conversion of Covenants to Gift Aid donations

If you would like to make a gift and you are in the UK, please consider using one of the two tax-efficient methods: Gift Aid or Charities Aid Foundation voucher. This will help the Trust as it can reclaim the tax which you have paid on your Gift Aid contribution.

Gift Aid - from 6th April 2008

This applies to a single gift of  any amount. The advantage of using Gift Aid is that the Trust can reclaim tax of £0.25 for every £1 you donate.  The only requirement for you using the Gift Aid scheme is that you must pay an amount of  UK income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax we reclaim on your donation (25p for every £1 you give). If you are a higher rate tax payer you can also claim tax relief on your donation to reduce your tax bill. Giving could not be simpler, send us a donation with your name and address and we will send you a simple form to sign. We can also claim an additional £0.03 Gift Aid Transitional Relief for every £1 you donate up until 5th April 2011 making your total gift worth 28p for every pound donated.

Give As You Earn (GAYE)
Payments may be made to the Trust using the GAYE scheme.

Charities Aid Foundation
Donations may be made by a Charities Aid Foundation voucher as the Trust is a UK registered charity.

Net Covenants- from 5th April 2000
In future these will be treated as Gift Aid donations. You do not need take any action for existing covenants. When the 4-year covenant period expires we will contact you with details of the much simpler Gift Aid scheme.

Please contact the secretary of the Keltek Trust for more information or send us a donation together with your name and address and we will do the rest.
