Eastthorpe, Mirfield, Yorks.

The ring of six Taylor bells had been derelict for many years and were in a perilous state. An emergency faculty was granted to remove the bells on grounds of safety.

These bells were the first acquisition made by the Trust. They were acquired on the condition that every effort would be made to find a "new" home for the bells.

The Trust decided to try and keep the ring intact instead of remodelling it into a lighter ring of bells.

Charleston, SC, Cathedral Church of St Luke & St Paul

We are pleased to announce that the Eastthorpe bells have now been hung for ringing at Charleston.

The bells were hung during July 2001, augmented to a ring of eight and dedicated November 2001.

The bell from a previous church on the site was dismantled and sent to Columbia to be melted down in support of the Confederate cause.
