Synopsis
Author: Ken Brown ( Former member of 'The Quarrymen' )The story begins with my earliest recollections, and gradually unfolds to reveal an intriguing account of musical associations and experiences, including the circumstances surrounding them.
'Some Other Guy' (working title) includes details of my introduction and association with the late George Harrison and John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and 'The Quarrymen'. The book gives the only true account of my actual involvement with the band that was to become The Beatles!
The famous 'Casbah Coffee Club' now features as part of Liverpool's 'Beatles Museum'. In my book I describe in detail, how the transformation from basement to "birthplace of The Beatles" took place, the excitement of opening night, the first appearance of The Quarrymen, and the subsequent success of The Casbah.
My association with owner of The Casbah Coffee Club, the late (and loveable) Mrs. Mona Best and her family form a sizeable portion of the book, as do the recollections of the effect they were to have on my life.
The first true and detailed account of my split with The Quarrymen is included, as are details of the forming of The Blackjacks with my life-long friend, Pete Best. The book also gives account of Pete's departure from The Blackjacks to become The Beatles original drummer.
'Some Other Guy' is a true and personal story, and includes many other related events that have taken place over the past 40 years, good times, bad times, happy times, sad times, exciting times, and traumatic times.
In conclusion, the book also details my involvement in the Casbah's 40th anniversary celebrations.
