  Fossil Preparation Pen. Model ST
      Pneumatic air operation

Our ST Fossil Preparation Pen is one of our most popular pens. In its standard form, before we adapt and refine them to a new life as a fossil preparation Pen, they are designed and marketed as air engravers for etching/writing on hard metals.

HOWEVER......Fossil preparation puts unique stresses and demands on an air engraver, making them poor performers for fossil preparation, in their standard form. Fossil preparation subjects tools to considerably more stresses than metal etching and the like. They have to be more flexible and have to operate at a finer level usually for considerably longer intervals in an obviously totally different environment....Obviously it makes sense to have a tool that is refined and designed to meet these needs.

Experienced users will always confirm how powerful, flexible and usable specifically designed fossil prep tools are in comparison to a basic air or electric engraver

Our ST Fossil Preparation Pen modifications and adaptations number over 14 in total. This involves subtle machining and tuning as well as adding or replacing 5 internal key parts including a completely new stylus and viarable switch and refining these pens into a purposely built fossil preparation pen that has a proven and undoubted superior performance.

This results in a specific fossil preparation pen quite different to a basic standard air engraver despite retaining a similar outward appearance.

The ST Fossil Preparation Pen is both quiet, smooth and easy to use making it an ideal first or one only pen. Its spinning tip and very high stroke rate makes it a very versatile tool. Tips last indefinitely, barring accidents, such as if dropped, when even then unlike standard engraving pens the tips can be repaired here by us for a fraction of the cost of a new stylus. It has a very low air consumption.
