Digipan*
DigiPan stands for "Digital
Panoramic Tuning" and brings the ease and simplicity of PANORAMIC reception
and transmission to PSK31 operation. DigiPan provides a panoramic display of the
frequency spectrum in the form of an active dial scale extending the full width
of the computer screen. Depending upon the transceiver IF bandwidth, it is
possible to "see" as many as 40 to 80 PSK31 stations at one time.
Three low-cost transceiver kits for 20 meters , 30 meters, and 40 meters, the
PSK-20, PSK-30 and PSK-40, are available from Small Wonder Labs that make full
use of DigiPan's panoramic capabilities through the use of a 4000 Hz wideband
IF. An article about DigiPan and the panoramic transceiver can be found starting
on page 33 of the June, 2000, QST magazine. Other information about PSK31,
including a downloadable copy of the article, is currently available from the
ARRL Technical Information Service. When used with existing transceivers,
DigiPan displays 2000 Hz to 3000 Hz of spectrum space, displaying all, or almost
all, of the active PSK31 stations on the band at one time, and clearly showing
unused frequencies available for calling CQ. Tuning to a station, or to an empty
frequency, is done by simply pointing with the mouse cursor and clicking the
left mouse button. DigiPan's features include simultaneous reception of two
stations at the same time, "Snap" to snap the cursor quickly to the
center of the displayed station, AFC to keep it tuned there, "Seek"
for mouse-free tuning, and "Scan" which can be used to build a history
of activity on the band, a calibrated dial scale for each band, typeahead
buffer, twenty-four operator-configurable macro keys, and a basic logging
function with search and edit capabilities. DigiPan is the result of a joint
effort between KH6TY, UU9JDR, and UT2UZ, the author of MIXW32, and is intended
to make PSK31 operation easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
Dxatlas*
This is the best and most up to date
DXCC mapping program I have come across and well worth installing on you PC...DX
Atlas is a software map program designed for the Amateur Radio DX'er. It
displays world maps in both Rectangular and Azimuthal projections. Overlays are
provided for amateur prefixes, CQ Zones, and ITU Zones. For any point selected
by the user, latitude, longitude and Grid Square are displayed. Text indexes are
included for prefixes, cities, and islands, and statistical information on each
of these is available with a right-click. The program can display either an
index, a map, or both simultaneously. The user can select a home location, and
antenna bearing and distance are automatically calculated (both short and long
path) to the current point on the map and in the indexes. Maps can be zoomed in
and out, and the Gray Line can be added to any map display. The Gray Line
automatically reflects the current time and date (as set on the computer), or a
fixed time (past or future) can be entered for a specific purpose. Sunrise and
sunset times for any point on the map are also shown. There is also an optional
clock displaying date, time, and local sunrise/sunset. The display can be
toggled between UTC and local time. It is also possible to search for a Country
or Prefix and have the result shown on the map
What is DXTelnet?
DXTelnet is a Windows based, DX oriented, telnet application.
Unlike the traditional telnet applications, DXTelnet was designed to fit the DXer needs and to fix most of the well known problems affecting the other traditional telnet applications, first of all the windows scroll back and the use of the BACKSPACE key; DXTelnet performs a rational information displaying, multiconnection, dummy activity simulation to fight idle disconnection timeouts and many, many other original and useful features.
Currently DXTelnet is the first telnet program born to satisfy "Power
DXers".If you use an Internet connection to receive spots from a DXCluster, probably this is the program you've always been looking for: now it exists!.
From version 2.0, DXTelnet includes 3 programs in one: DXTelnet, for Telnet connections, DX-TNC for packet radio connections, DX-Plorer for connections to OH2BUA's web cluster with automatic page refresh (minimum period 1 minute); these 3 programs can be run together to get DX-Spots from different sources; all the spots, from all the sources, will be displayed in each DX Window, without duplications.
Geoclock*
GeoClock shows the current time (based
on your computer's clock) with a high quality map of the earth. The current sun
position is displayed, and the parts of the earth in sunlight and twilight are
highlighted. This display is automatically updated every few seconds. Local
sunrise, sunset, the sun's azimuth and elevation, and times around the world are
also displayed. A variety of map backgrounds and other options are available.
GeoClock is distributed as shareware. With registration you get the latest
versions of the programs, 45 maps, zoom, distance measuring, local time
displayed next to the city names, and immediate map display.

Hamscope*
HamScope is a multi-mode
communications package for amateur radio that supports: PSK31 (BPSK and QPSK) -
RTTY - ASCII - MFSK16 - CW, HamScope adds a forward error correction (FEC)
option to BPSK (an interleaved (216, 64) Turbo encoding method). This encoding
method provides more robust communications under weak-signal conditions, but
reduces the data transfer rate somewhat when compared with the base mode.
Modifications to BPSK to support FEC and references that describe the algorithm
is detailed in the HamScope Technical Specifications Hamscope also offers an
advanced user interface with a multitude of features to provide optimal control
and convenience during operation · a wide, multifunction panoramic display · a
radio control interface for several ICOM, TenTec, Kenwood, and Yaesu
transceivers · a dynamic link to the YPLOG logging software · 42
user-programmable macro buttons · user definable function key mappings HamScope
is designed to run under Windows 95, 98, and NT, and requires a 133 MHz
Pentium-class or better machine. 16 bit SVGA color (or greater) is also
necessary for the panoramic waterfall display to function correctly.
