Beech
Having been
controller for the event here that we had to cancel earlier in the year, it made
sense for me to step in to Peter Morton's shoes when it transpired that he
wouldn't be around for the re-arranged date.
As he had re-tagged
the sites all I had to do was put out the controls under the watchful eye of
John Moody who took on the role of controller on the day.
I must apologise for
the slight delay at the start. I probably erred too much on the side of caution
when deciding how many controls to put out on the Saturday, but with an area
used by the general public so much I didn't want to risk controls going astray.
However, that left me with too much to do on Sunday morning and without John's
help the starts would have been delayed even more. Many
thanks.
Otherwise everything
seemed to go well - especially the weather. Times were quite fast, as was to be
expected, because the courses were originally planned with February conditions
in mind when wind, rain and low cloud are more likely (not to mention
snow).
