Floating Butterfly

The butterfly has a green aventurine body with a separate, applied head section and two thick pale green antennae. The wings are formed from flattened millefiori canes.

Note that the upper wings use the same cane as in the outer garland, this feature is seen in other (but not all) butterfly weights believed to have been made by Salvador Ysart.. The inner garland of canes is rather brighter than the outer garland and this reflects the brightness of the butterfly's lower wings.
