So, what do you make of this one? A single row of cream canes surrounds a complex cane of multiple rods within a white sheath. A "1-2" pattern is formed by the 7, barely-visible green twists. Pink ground. |

Bubbles at junctions. Take another look at the central cane - it's quite distinctive. A rather similar design was used by Vasart and Strathearn - and also by Paul Ysart! So although the cane is distinctive, it's not a definite clue to maker or period. The cream canes and also the thinly flashed blue canes could indicate Strathearn. But they do appear in Vasart weights, too! |

Almost a nice profile, but doesn't quite get there. Well, what about an attribution? I am going to sit on the "transitional" fence. It fluoresces like Strathearns and later Vasarts but I feel that it could be either of these. |
