Surely, this must be a Vasart weight? Three rows of canes - orange, light blue and cream - surround a pale turquoise cog cane. The outer garland has alternate canes and twists - 7 of each. Blue ground. |

The surface of the canes shows bubbling. This weight has an excellent example of a "falling over" cane. The central cane is almost laying on its side. Also, some of the orange and light blue canes have a distinct lean. The interior of the light blue canes is difficult to see properly but contains a pair of cream canes with orange centres set against a pair of light blue canes with dark yellow centres. The outer canes look almost like "turbine fans" but in fact are stretched cog canes with some parts merging into the blue of the background. |

The dome of this weight is remarkably clear. Although not visible in the photo, there are, however, several "wreathing" lines within the upper part of the dome. The ground is slightly pointed and the canes are proud of the surface but not excessively so. Given the general mix of quality in this item and the simple canes, some with multi-cane centres, I believe this is a Vasart weight. |
