Why the hell am I here.
Flounder is the answer and bloody big ones, Though Doggies turn up as do small coalies and codling. I have seen large sea trout and many mullet and small bass but have not caught them. |

Bait and method.
Crab would seem to be the only bait for the flounder, which can reach specimen size. Fish bait for dogs and god knows what for sea trout. A short cast, about 10 to 20yds will do, though you have to watch out for mooring lines. A 2 hook flapper one up one down rig with long snoods works well with 1/0 long shank hooks.Bait and method. Time and tide………… The two hours before high water, and the two hours after are the most productive for flounder. You need moving water at this mark.
Tips…. Down size your leads as the tide race dies away to keep some movement in your bait. I use 4oz to 1oz rolling leads or flattie leads, just watch out for those snags. There is a great pub close at hand if there are no fish about.
